This felt like the right time to take a break from festival coverage and have a heart to heart. You guys I’m exhausted. It was so much fun going through the entire Coachella lineup, and honourable mention to artists I didn’t include yet because they will be appearing in future posts. But going through such a diverse lineup of artists with varying levels of talent has given me genre whiplash. Like I’m not complaining. I’m in such a privileged position, and it’s the life that I chose. I don’t take it for granted.
Moving on, I have so many big ideas in the works. Film festival coverage, my podcast, Baby tees, merch for pets, a group chat for just my closest readers, and I’m going to turn some of my best writing into a printable zine. Plus ads! They’re going to be so tasteful though, my standards are high.
As I move into the next phase of this project, I’ve been thinking a lot about access, and how to incorporate the art of conversation into my work. I know I do probably need to do more in person coverage. It’s what you want! And I have been reaching out to get the ball rolling on that kind of content. I sent 107 emails today because I wanted to feel like I had a job. Only three people replied, and one of them was an automated OOO from a guy named Joe who is “recharging in Lake Como.” Is Joe the only person in the world who is actually happy?
Anyway I know a lot of people out there are wanting to talk to me now, but their “team” are “playing it safe.” Why do I need a 24-year-old publicist named Madison to tell me I’m allowed to have an opinion? Am I only “real” if I have a lanyard that says Media?
If you wanna talk have your publicist DM me.
Lots of love!
